Re: Happy Birthday, Chris!!
by Koo Cho
Gabriel and I drove Chris mom Maureen this past Sunday to the hospital to drop her off for her visit with Chris. He was very happy and vocal when he saw the three of us. It’s sad and happy at the same time his unmistakeable ability to recognize his son, mother, and me. Maureen said Chris’ back looked fine now so he is healed – the hospital concluded that there was no way to find out for sure what caused his injury but continues to be vigilant. He is overall healthy and in good health, but there has not been any improvements in a very long time so hopes are low for any significant recovery that will make any significant difference in his ability to resume life as I know he would have liked to live. We will continue to work with the hospital for the best possible quality of care for his condition. He continues to receive daily RMNS and PT. Attempts at establishing communication continue to be carried out by trying switches. It was Chris 36th birthday on Monday. For me, his condition is a nightmare from which I know I will never wake up from. I have learnt to accept the reality of the situation, but at the same time feel the constant pain of knowing his fate. Gabriel and I are properly settling in our new house and are both very happy with the move. In a way, it is a beginning for us - of happy memories to be built.
