I love new years more than any other holiday as historically it’s been a time of re-starting in a blank page, refreshed, renewed, with LOADS of goals, objectives, resolutions, hopes…

2009 kicked off the happiest for me ever since Chris’ injury and so far I am in such high spirits. Being with my parents, sisters, nephews, and nieces was truly special. Gabriel was simply out of control in excitement about his cousins, the gifts, my parents, the beach, the nice weather, everything. I will certainly make this trip every year for the rest of my life and I can not wait until next X-mas to see all my family again…

Hillary (Chris’ one-on-one carer) did not take any time off and saw Chris throughout the holiday season. BLESS. She is truly an angel with a heart of gold. She reported Chris was fine, as usual, status quo, nothing new to report. No, Hillary did not say anything about Chris crying missing anyone of us aware of the 25th of December. That’s one advantage of anoxic brain injury: it makes you cognitively impaired.

Chris has been receiving RMNS – an electric stimulation through the right median nerve for days now. I’ve been lining this up for weeks prior to the holiday season and thanks to all the assistance from a very special doctor in NC, USA and Chris’ PT’s, this therapy was finally just implemented mid December. I do not have hopes of a miracle but I am very happy that he is receiving yet another treatment. We will be providing this throughout the year but any results will likely to be slow to come.

I wanted to share some more pictures from our holidays and also wish the entire world a happy 2009.

May peace and peace and peace be every where!

With love and always endless gratitude for all those who care so much,

Koo

PS – Gabriel has agreed to go visit Chris this Sunday. I hope it will be a happy visit… and will update afterwards...
