Chris was slightly better today – consequently so was I (slightly). Chris was better in the sense that he was not sleepy and dozing off like last week, he was awake and alert all the time. In fact he was very happy to see me and smiled at me almost all day long (except when I was torturing him with stretches in his arms and massages on his hands). I was able to give a very nice and long foot massage which started with a warm water soak and ended with oil rubs all over.

Then it was time for his lunch and he ate it all very well as usual (chicken, mashed and vegetables). Chris was grinding his teeth again horribly which always drives me crazy. Then we listened to some music. I talked more than the usual with him – it’s a monologue. I believe he does not understand a single word of what I say.

I played a tape Chris’ brother Brian recorded with well wishes from all his childhood friends from Long Island. This was taped in June 2005 just 2 months after the cardiac arrest when Chris was still in a coma. We listened to the tape and I cried my eyes out again but Chris was not paying any attention to the voices. He was just staring at me unaware of the voices. Another bad thing is that his left arm is back to square zero, hard like a wood board, impossible to stretch…

I am physically sick so much I miss my baby Gabriel. He is never traveling again without me in the future. Thankfully they will all arrive this week! I can not wait…

I am on my way to Heathrow to pick up my friend Annemarie tonight. Now… this is when I have the ultimate evidence of what amazing blessings I have in my life in the form of friends like her. She is flying here just to be with me in the New Year! It’s a three day trip from NY she is making just to be with me! Am I blessed or what…

Happy New Year – I hope everyone has a fantastic midnight celebration. I will be just fine because now I have one of my best friends in the world with me… so at least I will have someone to hug and kiss when the fireworks go off… ha ha… I am not the prince she has been looking and waiting for but I love her as much or more than a prince would… :)
