Only news is that we are back on plan with taking Chris back to China on March 20, 2008. This time, Chris will go for 6 injections of umbilical cord stem cells in a hospital in Hangzhou (which is 180 miles from Shanghai) for 4 weeks. Early this year, Chris got neural fetus stem cells and bone marrow stem cells over the course of three months in Beijing. I think Chris will be one of the few that will have tried all these different types of stem cells treatments – this is exciting because I will be able to compare results and hospitals, but also I will have tried almost everything available out there with Chris.

This will all be funded from the Friends & Family fundraiser: c. $42,000+ of the $49,055 raised have finally been directed to the hospital and the CBMF trust, in which all trustees agree to direct 100% of proceeds to Chris’ costs. Thanks to Chris’ mom Maureen for pushing to make this happen. I think this money will allow me to work with Chris throughout 2008, but I just need to carefully plan more effective treatment options. Sometimes I am at lost as to what to do next and I am also limited by what his doctors/ hospital may allow it or not.

My mom and Gabriel just left couple of hours ago to go to Seoul for the holidays so I will be on my own for the next three weeks, mostly working. We had friends from Paris this weekend and all went to The Snow Queen ballet yesterday – Gabriel loved it and stayed curious and alert through the 3 acts performed in almost three hours to my complete surprise. There was no hospital visit this weekend as I did not feel like having a crazy hectic weekend and I wanted to enjoy my son as much as possible. Gabriel is one of the most independent 4 y.o. I know. He went through security blowing kisses at me and screaming Tchau Mamae!!! I miss him already…
