I have just returned to London after exactly 1 work-week in Spain – can not wait to sleep on my own bed... My parents and Gabriel actually flew over the weekend to spend Saturday and part of Sunday with me before my offsite kicked off later Sunday afternoon so we all had a nice – albeit short - break.

My mom told me they went to see Chris today and found him in bed with new form of splints on his elbows. It is clearly painful but Chris’ arms are really so bad due to the spasticity. By following other brain injury patients on the Internet and seeing their pictures, absolutely none of them have arms and hands as distorted and atrophied as Chris’. I have been worried about this for long and although I know it must be improved I feel so helpless. I got many people email me with suggestions and I will look into every suggestion.

Ann – who used to treat Chris at Holy Cross for Reiki and Cranio Sacral Therapy – committed to driving over 2 hours each way to come treat Chris on a monthly basis. She went to see Chris today and here’s her note to me:

“Hi Koo,
Have just returned from seeing Chris and it was soooooo lovely to see him. He gazed at me for a while but then the smile came as he remembered that he knew me. I worked on him in his room and we had lots of visitors (staff) to see him. They also came in to take off his splint on the left arm where they are injecting him with botox. It is still painful for him to be handled but the nurse was obviously a lovely person and she sees him for physio each day.
He went into deep still point the moment I touched him so his body remembered me and I gave him Reiki and cranioSacral therapy and worked with the finer and higher energies of his body to repair connective tissue, the neurology and the areas of speech and swallowing. He was tired, perhaps from the morning and the botox but he stayed with me communicating all the time. I always remind him of how much he is loved and I promised I will see him next month. Lots of love to you and Gabriel. Ann”

Chris had the Norwick team come to assess and work with him today so will get a full update from the hospital tomorrow.
