I arrived today in London where it was a typical cold winter day. The last time I was here was in the heart of summer so I was anxious to see how Chris is doing and whether I would notice any new developments. Koo arrived home from work around 6pm and we left for Putney to make a short visit with Chris. Gabriel wanted to join us with his trusty dinosaur in hand!
There are 2 things I noticed right away in terms of “new” (since the summer) developments with Chris. First, he seems to make much more natural and consistent eye tracking with people. In the summer, he had “windows” of tracking whereas today, he consistently watched and took notice of us. Second, Chris is MUCH MORE VOCAL, making lots of guttural sounds! When I was here in the Summer, he made a single grunt-like noise the whole week I was here. Today, in the short time we were in his room, Chris never stopped making noises. Unfortunately, we could not make any words out, but I felt he was really trying hard to communicate something. Koo massaged his hands and feet before we all said goodbye and “see you tomorrow”.
