Chris seems now to be getting into a routine as I can already detect certain patterns, i.e., he is way too tired after his PT to stay awake AND even less capable to chew and swallow his dinner. So starting from tomorrow we will reinforce his breakfast and lunch and leave very light items for dinner (i.e. easy to swallow fruits, yogurt, etc). I am also proud to say that I went food shopping and cooked a really great fresh meal for Chris: mushrooms and spinach sautéed in butter, and chicken fillet. Cooking there was not that bad and I am making a list of very easy to prepare meals (i.e. omelets, fillets, sautéed veggies, etc) so that my dad can also cook for Chris after I leave...

The first stem cell injection was postponed to Thursday, instead of tomorrow. It seems the cells were not ready yet as they come from special authorized labs. One of the translators told me that each injection is derived from a single umbilical cord: they extract the stem cells and cultivated some more to make enough numbers for a lumbar injection.

Only now I am starting to meet the other patients. I think Chris is one of the few adults here as most of the patients are Cerebral Palsy children from all ages starting as young as 9 months old of age. Someone told me there are 4 families from Romania, 4 from the UK, 1 from the US, 1 from Macedonia... I am missing some, as there are 13 rooms on the floor. The two families I spoke with told me they saw immediate changes after the first injection (not MAJOR changes, yet positive CHANGES). There is no organized venue and/or event for families to meet each other. At TianTan we had a weekly families' gathering which was very nice to bring everyone together.

OK, I sent some pics today and I will post again if anything new.

Hasta.
